Sports Ground Attendance System

Turnstile monitoring is carried out locally by NCT200 counter modules. Each turnstile is individually monitored by one of four counters within a counter module. A count input from the turnstile to the counter module is a single clean pulse from voltage free contacts. The counter module records the count of spectators entering through each of up to four turnstiles. The count data is stored locally in non-volatile memory and is made available to the VenueMaster over a network connection. The VenueMaster software runs on a standard PC and is implemented as a server/client system where the server maintains communication with the counter modules and manages all of the counts plus associated data, and the client provides the user interface, retrieving data from the server as necessary.
The VenueMaster software maintains a number of ‘Virtual Counters’ that compute data from other counters to produce summary information such as the current number of spectators within a particular stand or enclosure or the number of spectators that have entered through a bank of turnstiles.

The data is used to provide user-friendly on-screen data to the management. This screen can provide information about overall level of attendance plus the distribution of spectators around the ground. Alarms can be triggered when the number of spectators in a particular stand or enclosure reaches a predetermined percentage of its capacity to enable the management to take appropriate action.

The VenueMaster software can manage variable messages signs placed in strategic locations around the ground to display current spectator counts or remaining capacity as necessary.

The VenueMaster system can manage up to 128 turnstiles using 32 counting modules. Each of the counting modules can autonomously record the number of spectators entering through each of the turnstiles that it controls, thereby providing backup in the event of a system failure. Each module can be provided with a battery back-up system to provide continued operation in the event of a power failure.

The VenueMaster can keep an unlimited number of ‘Virtual Counts’ that can be used for on-screen data and/or variable message signs. Up to 256 different count values can be displayed on variable message signs around the ground.
